Victa Damian

ANYONE who has watched Victa Damian sweep to some remarkable racetrack performances will understand just why Tony and Lisa Rasmussen declare him the best they have had.

That's some wrap on the son of Fernando Bale-Victa Polly by El Grand Senor.

By the time he got to Wentworth Park to win the Group 1 National Derby for the Schadow family and their partners in the star, he had already run 30.27 as a baby at the "new" Angle Park and then went 30.03 to win The Spark and just last week the G3 Brian Johnstone Memorial.

At Wenty he promptly reeled off a race record 29.44 on his way to the Derby victory.

He then won his way into the G1 Australian Cup at The Meadows and stormed home late from a hopeless early position to get third behind Fernando Mick. He went to The $500,000 Sandgroper at Cannington in Perth and had no luck.

The sky is the limit for him and current plans are to head to Albion Park for the G2 Flying Amy Classic.

Victa Damian’s sire Fernando Bale speaks for himself.

His dam, Victa Polly, raced 53 times for 13 wins and seven placings. She won at Gawler, Angle Park, Strathalbyn and Murray Bridge and got 530m.

She came from a litter of nine and all have been winners.

They also included Victa Ashley (21 wins, $52,000), Victa Caleb (40 wins, $76,000), Victa Kylie (28 wins, $33,000), Victa Nash (20 wins, $29,000) etc.

In all this litter has raced 674 times for 158 wins, 236 placings and $251,000 in stakes.

Their toughness is understandable.

Their "mum" Victa Victoria raced 134 times for 26 wins and 39 placings earning $60,000.

She was third in the G3 Gawler Gold Cup and a prolific Angle Park winner. Her brother Victa Sam won 13 races and earned $42,000.

It is the Corrumbene Lass direct damline so cherished by Kirin Corby going as good as it was when Kirin bred and raced SA greyhound of the year Lion Hearted way back in the early 2000s.

Victa Victoria has been mated to Fernando Bale, El Grand Senor, Cosmic Rumble.

To Fernando Bale she came up with such stars as Victa Grosso (35 wins, $146,000), Victa Haydn (23 wins, $144,000), Victa Reid (25 wins, $109,000), Victa Kurt (27 wins, $71,000) etc etc etc.

That litter was fabulous and it was no wonder the Schadow family would mate Victa Polly, a daughter of Victa Victoria, to Fernando Bale in the hope of getting another Grosso, Haydn, Reid, Kurt etc.

What they got in Victa Damian is even better…much better.

Why should it be so?

It is all in the bloodlines…as well as the superb rearing, education and now training.

Fernando Bale-Victa Victoria brought in the now highly proven double of Primo Uno, a cross found in Kirin Corby's champion Fernando Bale son Sennachie.

But, when Victa Polly went to Fernando Bale she brought in an extra dimension.

It was a 2x4 of Chloe Allen and Elgrando Gold.

They are virtual sisters.

Both are by sons of Black Shiraz and both are out of daughters of Awesome Assassin.

Chloe Allen has a cross of Irish import Silver Ball in her damline, Elgrando Gold has Barneys Alarm. There are numerous common ancestors to be found in that pair.

So, when Victa Polly went to Fernando Bale, she brought in the proven double of Primo Uno and added the Chloe Allen/Elgrando Gold input. It was enough to lift the pedigree to "potential" champion status in Victa Damian.

Victa Damian already has a stud career.

He will be absolutely ideal for daughters of Barcia Bale and how many of those are waiting for him out there!
