Joyce Rumble

BACK in mid-December last year, the great man Steve Kavanagh was both overjoyed and disheartened.

Joyce Rumble (Cosmic Rumble-Dulcinea by Primo Uno) had just swept aside Group stars Fast Times and Cosmic Bonus in a 29.86 Best 8 win at Albion Park at her fourth start from a long break.

It took her record to 45 starts for 19 wins and seven placings earning $64,000 in stakes.

But the next day Joyce Rumble was on season. Steve had been looking forward to a continuation of her great race career that had seen her win a Young Guns at Albion Park and also make the finals of the Group 1 Winter Cup, Group 2 Qld Futurity, Group 3 Gold Coast Cup and Group 3 Darwin Cup.

On the racetrack, Joyce Rumble has always been the real deal.

But, always one to seize the day, Steve Kavanagh decided Joyce Rumble was telling him something by coming on season. He took the opportunity to mate her to champion Fernando Bale.

Now Steve reports the bitch has just whelped seven dogs and four bitches to that mating. Some might even be available for sale at three months.

Putting a Cosmic Rumble bitch to Fernando Bale is already proven via Group 1 Nat Sprint winner West On Augie who runs in this weekend's Group 1 Perth Cup final as a huge chance.

But, the Fernando Bale-Joyce Rumble pups also carry a 3x3 double of Primo Uno and this is also proven via Fernando Bale. There are numerous other aspects to this pedigree that greatly appeal.

They include a duplication and balance of Head Honcho and the reinforcement of the litter brothers Skelligs Tiger and Curryhills Fox.

This is the family of Hannalore that grand North Queensland campaigner who won 50 races for Frank and Edith Hancock.

Joyce Rumble's dam Dulcinea was a Group 2 Lismore Gold Cup finalist and has become a dominant producer with such class acts as Battistuzzi, Sonic Thunder, Mahaila, Lady Jasmin, Mr Babicci, Anja, Dulcie Dee etc etc etc.

Dulcie Dee is the dam of Group star Uno Fabio who also carries a double of Primo Uno.

Things have been busy for Kavanagh at "Rumble Retreat" as he calls his former property around Murwillumbah on the Northern Rivers of NSW.

That's because Josie Rumble (Kiowa Mon Manny-Mystic Rumble) has just whelped a litter to champion sire Collision, three dogs and six bitches.

It is a mating that produces a 2x4 duplication of that famed producer Rumble Spirit a double that has worked to great speed for Kavanagh in the past.

Years ago, Kavanagh duplicated Rumble Spirit's dam Follow Through to produce the flying Rumble Impact who then went to Ireland to become a successful stud dog.

Josie Rumble was a sound and genuine race bitch throughout a 92-start career.

She won 21 races and was placed 28 times, earning $52,000.

That career included wins at Lismore, Albion Park, Ipswich, Traralgon, Shepparton, The Meadows, Sale and Warragul. She was a multiple feature race winner and placegetter.

And her own litter also included Mysterize (12 wins, $35,000).

Josie Rumble's dam Mystic Rumble (14 wins) was a litter sister to Kavanagh's champ Cosmic Rumble (G1 Golden Easter Egg).

Mystic Rumble had litters to Hallucinate, Collision, Bombastic Shiraz, Where's Pedro and Premier Fantasy.

She is also the dam of Tobias Rumble (17 wins, $58,000), Indiana Rumble (11 wins, $38,000) and Jessie Rumble (10 wins, $32,000) etc.

Indiana Rumble (in-bred to Rumble Spirit 2x3) is the dam of the high class Black Loch (3rd Eric Thomson Maiden final at Albion Park, 30.04 at Albion Park).

Kavanagh does not normally sell too many of his pups.

However, two litters of pups within a few weeks of each other could see buyers obtain some high quality youngsters.

We can only hope!
