AUSSIE infrared's emergence as a promising young stud dog was sealed when his son Catch The Thief scored to a 29.32 victory in the Group 2 WA Derby at Cannington on Saturday night.
Catch The Thief is a son of Aussie Infrared and the Barcia Bale-Crown Poker bitch Dundee Ally.
His dam Dundee Ally was a very good race bitch winning nine of 28 and was a Sandown winner who was tested over 600m towards the end of her career.
Until Catch The Thief's emergence, Aussie Infrared has relied on Ebby Infrared to fly the flag for his stud potential and he's been doing a great job.
Ebby Infrared is out of Lonesome Knight a bitch saturated with US bloodlines being by Lonesome Cry from Lily Eve a daughter of Molotov.
Lonesome Knight won eight races and got 700m at the end of her career.
So where is this leading?
Aussie Infrared was a brilliant sprinter, a son of Bella Infrared-Ebby Miss the dam a daughter of Head Bound-Senza Nome. Aussie Infrared won the G2 Maitland Cup, Victorian Coursing Derby and was a multiple Group finalist.
He pace alone gave him a stud career.

While Ebby Infrared is bred on a saturation of US bloodlines, it is the Paris Match 5x6 in his pedigree that is greatly positioned to impact. In Ebby Infrared, Paris Match comes via her daughter Lucky Penna and her son Bobniak.
